McCalls 6757 et Simplicity 8386

For this outfit I used McCalls 6757 which I have reviewed before Here and Simplicity 8386.
For the simplicity top I lengthened. My starting size was a 14 I used a ponte knit and kente print for fabric.I do like the ease of fitting but I really did not like the neckline on the original pattern so I decided to add a flounce.
I am still looking for other neckline finishes that I think will look better for the top.

For the Skirt I used a stretch denim. I omitted the pockets, front pleats and back vent. I kept the back pleats and added a side zipper with hooks and eyes. The waistband was hand sewn I don't mind stitch in the ditch but I've been getting better results through a simple hand stitch.

and of course

Vintage Practice Drafting

First and Foremost I am in love with these sun glasses below, Perfect for  50's styling.
I am beyond tempted to buy another pair in a different color. Secondly be sure to buckle up!!

Okay, so here we are with another vintage practice make. It was pretty hard matching these pinks.
I wanted to test out the look before making it in my full size, because I was unsure of how the pinks would match up.. I drafted a circle skirt and off the shoulder top. The skirt has a pink tulle petticoat underneath. I was actually very pleased with the overall look and the ease with which the stripes lined up. Be on the look out for the full version in which I am using Simplicty 8386 for the top and Simplicity 8458 from my pick nine!

                                                                       Ah and of course.
